Chiang began with a family background in
medicine. Her mother first practiced gynecology in Western medicine,
and later studied acupuncture and Chinese medicine for interest.
Chiang received her bachelor’s degree from the National Taiwan
University. She was an attending physician at the affiliated
Hospital of Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
With the family influence, Chiang emphasized
her practice on the gynecology and reproductive treatments for
women’s health. With more than 20 years of experiences, she
helped lost of patients in the issues of infertility, fibroid,
thyroid disorders, anxiety, depression, endometriosis, PMS,
menopause, etc, and her high quality practice is highly recommended
by the patients and community.
In late 1980, Chiang and her husband Wu founded
the first Houston Acupuncture and Herb Clinic, stocking around 600
different Chinese herbs in the professional herb clinic. She also
began teaching a Chinese medicine and meditation class at the
clinic. Later the clinic moved to the River Oaks area, which
enlarged the clinic to allow for stocking around 900 different
herbs.
In 1990, she founded the first acupuncture
college in Houston, the Texas Institute of Oriental Medicine and
Acupuncture. She is the Vice President and Clinic Director of the
Texas Institute of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. The Houston
Chronicle had in-depth articles both about the school and detailed
interview of her practice.
With her successful practice, Chiang added a
second clinic in the West University/ Texas Medical Center area to
continue her high quality holistic Traditional Chinese Medicine and
Acupuncture services.
Besides the profound professional knowledge,
the compassion, care and understanding attitude is a most important
integral opponent of Chaing’s practice. Her treatment approach
provides not only an individualized personal evaluation, but also a
consideration of the whole lifestyle assessment plain, to optimize
the quality of healthy life.
Patient’s recommendation
W. R. - The best and
wonderful services of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Houston.
Jo-Mei Chiang is very
experienced in Chinese medicine and acupuncture. She helped a lot of
patients in all kinds of conditions. Especially in fertility,
diabetes, pain management and allergy. She has a very warm and
professional attitude and her office has a very peaceful
environment. Her treatments are very effective, lot of times the
results are almost right away. Her herb clinic has hundreds of herbs
and she makes wonderful different formulas.
It is a blessing that I can
have her as my acupuncturist. To receive treatments from the
Acupuncturist Chiang is an exciting experience. For 3 years no
monthly periods, even with all the western medicines and doctors
help. You can imagine how depressed I could be, because I would like
to get pregnant.
After seeing the Acupuncturist
Chiang, I got my period in that month right way. It is an amazing
result. Now I have lots of hope in the Chinese medicine and
acupuncture. I believe this is a right way and a good way for my
pregnancy and my health. I highly recommend Acupuncturist Chiang to
everybody.
