Acupuncture for
Migraine and Headache
Migraine headache and
tension headache
Quite often when people complain headache are
mostly either tension headache or migraine headache. Tension
headache is due to the tension in the muscle of neck and head.
Migraine headache believed caused by the spasm of blood vessels in
the brain.
But lot of time, clinically the headache is the
combination of both.
Acupuncture treatment is significantly
effective for both acute headache and chronic headache. All over the
world, more and more researches suggested acupuncture is an
effective natural way to relief headache and the duration of the
effects is impressively long lasting.
Acupuncture can instantly increase the flow of
Qi and blood by inserting a hair fine metallic needle to the
specific acupuncture points. All the points are along the path
way called meridians or channels that flow through the whole body
externally and internally to connect the organ systems. The
increased flow can relax and dilate the small blood vessels around
the needling areas to either clear the stagnation or reduce the
stress, therefore the spasm of vessels or inflammation of muscles
are automatically improved.
This gentle way of improving the flow of Qi and
blood significantly benefits the chronic headache conditions.
On top of it, the enhanced immune system also is a great help for
prevention.
Emotional stress is a common reason to cause
headache, too. When we treat patients with migraine or headache, to
release the emotional stress is one of the must with acupuncture.
In nearly 30 years of clinical practice, we
believe pain relief is only the first step to treat headache, stress
reduction and reconstruction of a healthy life style (including
proper diet, exercise) are the important follow up steps.
In Houston
Acupuncture and Herb Clinic, we combine acupuncture with
meditated breathing technique during the treatment of migraine and
headache. With the special designed breathing technique, patients
can receive the optimal results almost immediately.
Our goal is not only to provide services to
eliminate pain, also to emphasis on introducing and educating
patients a harmonized healthy style for maintaining the quality of
life as well as prevention of diseases.
